Our certification standards are designed to protect integrity and reward quality. Under licence with ABP, all Certified Irish Hereford Prime beef is fully traceable from field to fork, thanks to a dedicated supply chain and DNA TraceBack. Remaining in control of every stage of the chill chain, guaranteeing authenticity and excellence in every cut.

To qualify, animals must meet strict criteria:

  • Classified as Hereford (HE or HEX) on the animal passport
  • Steers and heifers only, under 30 months of age
  • Carcass weights between 240kg and 380kg
  • Grading O= or better, with fat score between 2+ and 4+
  • Herds approved under the Bord Bia Sustainable Beef and Lamb Assurance Scheme

These measures ensure that every animal – and every cut – meets the highest standards, giving producers, chefs, and consumers total confidence.
